Our team
The Care Matters team began working together in 2007. They recognized that there was a distinct lack of quality advice for those people with specialised needs such as those with loved ones in nursing homes or residential care.
They believe there is a widespread lack of understanding about the financial implications for those needing Care. As a result they focus their attention on those feeling confused and worried about what the best course of action is. Their free Guide to Care Fees Financial Planning is available to anyone, either through this website or by calling the freephone number 0800 822 3385.
Each member of the Care Matters team focuses on their specialist areas of advice. Now the are leaders in the field of advice and guidance for the retired, the elderly and their families. With their team of efficient, caring staff, they deliver a responsive, flexible and personal service to those serious about protecting their wealth and providing for their loved ones.
With many years experience behind them, advising retired clients on investments and inheritance tax planning, they were well positioned to build on their knowledge and expertise. They are fully qualified to give advice on long term care matters and each have undergone Criminal RecordsBureau(CRB)checks.
Lorreine Kennedy
After travelling and living abroad in her early career, Lorreine became involved in financial services. After working with many of the major Banks, she found her true calling when she joined her friend Brian Tabor as an Independent Financial Adviser. Her initial experience highlighted the confusion many clients felt when considering the care needs of a loved one and as a result, Lorreine and her partners developed CareMatters. Lorreine Kennedy chose to specialise in Care Home Fees Planning and Lifetime Mortgages: helping homeowners over the age of 55 who need income to help supplement their retirement or a tax free lump sum of cash. Where possible, and with the client's approval, Lorreine likes to draw in other family members to help with the decision making process.
Lorreine is a member of the professional body Symponia and as such adheres to their code of conduct, supporting their ethos of being able to provide care and trust at what can be a difficult and emotional time. She is also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute which promotes education and knowledge to fellow Financial Advisors. Finally, Lorreine is a member of the Society of Later Life advisers (SOLLA) having successfully completed their accreditation program. Only those advisers who actively advise on Long Term Care, Equity release and other areas related to those entering or in retirement are eligible to become members.

Lorreine has featured in the Daily Telegraph and provided Sky News with help on their articles on the issues that the elderly face today: she also took part in a 1 hour live debate on the BBC World Service.
Lorreine is married to David and is mother to an adopted cat Millie, who often appears to forget exactly who pays the mortgage!
